Zhang Di – Musician, Wind Instrument Artist
Zhang Di comes from a distinguished family of wind instrument musicians. He is an independent musician, xiao flute, di flute, and shakuhachi artist, as well as a performer and cultural advocate. A member of the “Xian Assemble”, he studied under Zhang Lizhong, Lu Chunling, Yu Xunfa, and Zhang Weiliang, some of the most renowned masters of Chinese wind instruments.
He has performed at China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, while also touring internationally, collaborating with artists from the United States, Japan, France, Denmark, Greece, Norway, and beyond. His music spans traditional, contemporary, world, jazz, rock, experimental, and ambient genres, while also pioneering a new traditional music movement.
